Seeds for September cultivation of Sugarcane should not be selected from red rot diseased fields

Agriculture experts have directed farmers to select seeds from healthy, diseases and insects-free crops for the cultivation of September crop, as red rot diseased seeds reduce productivity. The selection of an appropriate planting method and schedule greatly influences crop growth, maturity, and yield. They said for the preparation of seeds for sugarcane, farmers should remove weak and diseased plants. Modern technologies must be used to gain better production. Moreover, they said farmers should avoid selecting seeds from red rot diseased fields. Instead of reapers farmers should use hand to harvest crops for the seed preparation and must select seeds from upper portion of crop. For fertile lands farmers should use 2 bag of DAP and 2 bag of potash at the time of plantation.
