Gram irrigation

Farmers should do first irrigation of kabali chickpea after 45 days of sowing while the second irrigation should be done on flowering stage. Remove weeds from the field to prevent the crop from wilting and blight. The gram crop needs less water and anyway the gram is a crop of rainfed areas so if there is no rain water is given at flowering stage.

In intercropping of sugarcane and gram, the water given to sugarcane is sufficient for gram. In most irrigated areas, if the crop height is growing due to excess fertilizers, pre-sowing or rainfall then stop irrigation and dry the land properly and prune the branch after two months of cultivation. If there is any disease effected plant in the field, remove it as soon as possible.
