30 to 35 kg per acre seed is recommended for gram cultivation.

Agriculture Department has directed farmers to use 30-35 kg per acre seeds for the cultivation of gram. In irrigated areas farmers should complete sowing of gram till 15th November. For better production approved varieties free from insect pests and diseases should be used for the cultivation. So that the farmers do not face any challenges later. Spokesperson of Agriculture Department said that farmers should examine their crop on daily basis and for the control of weeds proper management should be done, so that the crop can be saved from weevil attack. They said if the symptoms of weevil infestation occurs then appropriate insecticides should be applied. So that the damage cannot reach economic threshold level.
