The rights of sugarcane growers will be fully protected, Deputy Commissioner Bahawalnagar

Deputy Commissioner Bahawalnagar, SD Khalid said that the rights of sugarcane farmers will be fully protected. There will be ban on illegal canals across the district and middle man will not be allowed to take benefit at any cost. The sugar mills management will not buy sugarcane from the middle. Only the people approved by the Punjab Commissioner will be allowed to work and strict action will be taken against the illegal people. Crushing season will be started timely. They would go to any extent to protect the rights of the growers and help them get good price for their produce. He presided meeting in committee room about crushing season and buying of sugarcane. He added that the farmers should be given pass boxes. He ordered that Sugar mills administration will not produce any issues regarding passbooks distribution to the farmers. And CPRs will be issued at the time of purchase. Mills administration will also display banners in purchase centres and mills’ gates in which information and direction will be given to the farmers. DC Bahawalnagar said that farmers will not pay any kind of illegal tax and will pay according to government’s notification rates.
