The optimum water quantity must be applied to wheat for reducing water losses.

For the wheat crop, grown after rice, cotton, maize and sugarcane, second irrigation should be applied after 80 to 90 days of sowing. First irrigation is given 20 to 25 days after sowing, second irrigation after 70 to 80 days and third irrigation after 110 to 115 days of sowing.

Removal of weed is extremely important to achieve good production of wheat. Weeds can reduce approximately 14% to 42% production and if the weeds are eradicated, production can increase by 15 percent. For weedicide spray100 to 120 liters water per acres must be used and spray should be done in pleasant weather. Do not spray in fog, rain and wind, and it should be considered that during the spray crop no part of the crop should be sprayed twice and no part of the crop should remain left.
