Agriculture experts have directed farmers to timely irrigate wheat crop. In order to obtain a bumper crop of wheat this year, timely irrigation must be ensured. Spokesman of agriculture department said that an adequate soil moisture is required for normal development of the wheat crop at all the stages of growth.
Therefore, timely irrigation must be done. First irrigation is usually done 20-25 days after sowing. Second irrigation must be given approximately 70-80 days after sowing. Third irrigation must be given 110-115 days after sowing. At grain development stage drought conditions should be avoided. Watering can be adjusted according to the soil and weather conditions prevailing in that area.
