Farmers are instructed to use modern technologies for better production of rice

Farmers are instructed to use modern technologies for better rice production because rice is the world largest source of food but after wheat. The world production of rice is 5.5 million tons, while 92 percent of this production is cultivated in Asia. In Pakistan rice is the third largest crop after wheat and cotton and it is cultivated on 2.8 million hectares which is 11% of the total farming area. Rice share in Pakistan GDP is 1.1 percent. Pakistan is the 12th largest country for the production of rice. Pakistan produces 1.3 percent world’s rice production. While Pakistan is at the third position in international exporting market of rice, there is 2.5 million tons usage of rice in Pakistan. While total production is 7 million tons, so approximately 4.4 million tons amount of rice are present in huge quantity, which can be used for earning by export. In world demand of Pakistani rice is very high. Our share to export market is 7.2 %. As population is increasing day by day so need of food is also increasing.
