With proper care, lychee requires more water as compared to other fruits and orchards. Water shortage can affect the production of lychee and if there is less rainfall then farmers are advised to water them twice a day to fulfill there water requirement. The fruit of lychee can better grow in warm areas of south Punjab. Four varieties of lychee i.e Gola, Kalkatti, Be-dana and Bombay are very expensive as they are cultivated less. Farmers can earn more by cultivating these varieties.
