Chicken Raising Program: Poultry Research Department to breed 25 lac chicks.

According to the Chicken Raising Program by Prime Minister, preparations have been started immediately. Poultry Research Department has been assigned a target of preparing 25 lakh chickens in next three years. In accordance with Chicken Raising Program the prices of chicken will be also reduced. The program will be started in the first month of New Year. A set of 5 hens and one rooster will be prepared and it will cost only 800 rupees. This set will be available at Rs. 1200 for people not participating in the scheme.

For participation in the scheme, a form submission is required. Farmers can get free forms from the Poultry Research Institute and Department of Livestock and Diary Development. These chickens will be weighing 900 grams and will give 280 to 300 eggs per year. On emergency basis preparation of chicks has been started in the poultry farm of Rawalpindi, Dena, Attock, Sargodha, Multan, Gujarat and Dera Ghazi Khan.
