12,000 farmers registered for agriculture loans, Sialkot.

Deputy Commissioner, Syed Bilal Haider on Thursday said that more than 12,000 farmers were registered for agriculture loans so far in four tehsils of Sialkot. While addressing Agriculture Advisory Committee meeting held here, he said that a total of 24,000 farmers of Sialkot, Daska, Pasrur and Sambrial tehsils would be registered under the programme.

The DC directed the representative of Farm Water Management to create awareness among farmers about High Efficiency Irrigation System and promote drip farming in Sialkot. Punjab government was providing 60 percent subsidy in this regard and farmers will only spend 40 percent for the installation of the system.
